Built-in Speaker
|
The Rockin Chair iPod Speaker Stand, the coolest iPod accessory in the galaxy, is a handmade functional art object, designed as a desktop iPod stand and speaker system all in one. Featuring: Advanced Tim-O-Coustics with a massive 2 1/4 inch speaker, hand poured gypsum body for a solid robust sound, 90 degree angle audio plug, and requires no batteries or power adapter. Did I say no Batteries or Power Adapter? Yes! Powered directly from your iPod headphone jack this speaker stand lets you play your iPod without headphones or an expensive audio system, at work, home or abroad, requiring no batteries or additional power supply, while having little or no effect on your iPod battery life as it rests safely in the built in cradle. Each Speaker Stand is unique with a streaked color pattern or solid white for a decorative desktop addition. Works on Mac or Windows.

I log 8 hours 50 min. on a 1 1/2 year old 5 Gig. (rated at "up to 10 hours" new), on continuous play through the speaker stand.
Material: Hand poured plaster of paris, with a color dye.
Mono or Stereo? I believe two little speakers 2 inches apart gives you 2 inches of stereo separation. A few feet away... sounds like mono to me! One big speaker should give more kick from the bass. Mono.

"Coolest accessory? Art object? So says iPod Speaker Stand product site. And as it turns out...they might just be right."
"... powered by the output of the iPod's headphone jack, which is able to drive the speaker to a very acceptable volume... fits the 1G and 2G iPods, that I have tested it with, like a glove."
"The unit itself really is best physically described as a work of art. From the clean, smooth edges that fit the iPod so well, to the beautiful blue/white coloring—it's a handsome object... the iPod Speaker Stand really does stand out... as one of the more clever and unique iPod accessories."
